Sidewalk & Street Cleaning
One of the primary jobs of the Park Slope Fifth Avenue Business Improvement District is to improve the cleanliness of the avenue and make it more appealing for residents, merchants and shoppers, alike. The crew from Block by Block sweep the Avenue and side streets within the BID, empty the overflowing trash bins, remove graffiti and keep the sidewalk corners free of snow.
The BID team also puts in requests for removal of abandoned, chained bikes and dumped trash and items. The staff also report broken lamps, traffic lights and more.
Trees and Outdoor Furniture
Where trees have fallen or have been cut down, we order replacements through the City’s street tree program. We also request bike racks and benches when merchants and property owners ask. And, of course, the BID provides the Holiday lights from Dean to 18th Streets and the Park Slope 5th Ave lit sign at the entrance to the Avenue near the Barclays Center!
