This week we are focusing on Shopping Small and our upcoming Holiday Events.
Small Business Saturday, the big day to “shop small”, is coming up on November 26th and the holiday shopping season is nearly upon us. Shopping Small is more important for our community than ever! Park Slope’s stores, bars and restaurants, like many throughout the city, are experiencing a lot of challenges from higher rents to changes in shopping and eating habits, increased business and staffing costs and more.
Shopping on Fifth Avenue is truly a local experience. Many of our store owners live in the community. How many of them do you see in the morning on the walk to school or eating out in a local restaurant? These are people we know and love. They are an integral part of the community.
Plus, local businesses support our schools and sports teams, offer personal customer service and a truly unique shopping, dining and drinking experience. Starting this holiday shopping season and beyond, please do your part to keep your community healthy, vibrant and strong by shopping small on #theother5th.
