April A Taste of Fifth

Fifth Avenue restaurants and bars come together and throw you a party to raise money for local charities. Food samples, dancing, music, as much free beer, wine and shots as you can consume and lots of music all at the Grand Prospect Hall. Tickets on Sale beginning of March, $20 of the price goes to local charities!

May The Fabulous Fifth Avenue Fair

Not just your average street fair, but filled with local merchants, restaurants, bars and music on the street for you to enjoy. Always the Sunday after Mother’s Day!

June Brooklyn Pride

June 21st Make Music NY on #theother5th

From Dean to 18th Streets you can find musicians of all genres playing outside stores and restaurants. Hang out and enjoy the free music we have programmed for you on this Summer Solstice Day.

July and August Summer Strolls

Not just a block party but 6 blocks of 5th Avenue are closed off to traffic and opened up for fun, four times in July and August! Climbing wall, music, pop up park, large games, exercise classes are some of the fun activities you’ll find as well as eating and drinking on the street. Each of the Saturdays also has a special event, such as the Freddy’s Annual 5th Ave Doggy Fashion Show, South Brooklyn Shakespeare Play, Empanada Loca Eating Contest and Artichoke Pizza’s Eating Contest on 5th. All Summer Stroll Activities are free.

October 31st  6:30pm       Park Slope Halloween Parade                                

The Park Slope Fifth Avenue BID is a sponsor of the Park Slope Halloween Parade, which runs from 14th and 7th Ave, turns on 3rd St and ends on 5th Ave. Dress up and see the parade. 5th Avenue merchants are encouraged to parade with us.

November    Small Business Saturday                                        

Dean to 18th St on 5th Ave

Carolers, Santa, special events and promotions all down 5th Ave. Always the Saturday after Thanksgiving, this event focuses on the businesses we have on our door steps. Unique stores, services, bars and restaurants, owned by local people who invest in our community. Shop, Eat and Drink Local. Pick up a free shopping bag with a purchase, whilst they last.

November    Holiday Tree Lighting – first in NYC!                        

4th St and 5th Ave     We don’t just switch on the lights,we celebrate the beginning of the season and Small Business Saturday. Your 5th Avenue merchants pay for the Holiday Lights, Holiday Tree and Menorah for you to enjoy. Santa, music, puppetry, treats and free shopping bags at the Tree lighting.

December  Santa Visits

Santa comes to 5th Avenue, from Dean to 18th Sts, every Saturday leading up to Christmas Day. He might not ride in a sleigh; he usually finds a Cadillac more to his liking. Check back for details where you can find him, tell him what you want for Christmas or Hannukah and get a candy cane. Shop, eat and drink local and you will see the carolers singing in and outside of the local businesses.
