About the Position:
The Outdoors on #TheOther5th Ambassadors will work as part of a team to manage the safe closing and reopening of streets and monitor Open Streets’ conditions during the program hours. Our program includes approx. 15 blocks bet Dean Street and 16th Street and runs on Saturdays from 11 am to 10 pm. It is expected that the program will be extended to Sundays in July and August.
About You:
We are looking for individuals who have experience with public and community events or a background in event production or hospitality. You should be comfortable with working outdoors, walking for up to 5 hours per shift, and be able to lift up to 30lbs. (Please note: this is NOT a brand ambassador position)
The Fine Print:
This is a temporary part-time position, and team members are scheduled on an as-needed basis. The pay rate is $150 per shift on a W2 basis. We offer two shifts: daytime 10:30 am-4:30 pm (+/- 30 min) or evening 4:30 pm-10:30 pm (+/- 30 min).

The Park Slope Fifth Avenue Business Improvement District envisions an attractive, diverse, and thriving avenue in the heart of Park Slope, where everyone feels welcome to shop, work, learn, dine, live and play. The BID carries out its mission by keeping 5th Avenue clean, supporting 520 merchants between Dean Street and 18th Street, and managing the Outdoors #ontheother5th program.
Outdoors on #TheOther5th is a part of New York City’s Open Streets: Restaurants initiative. The program creates safe public spaces and supports small businesses by transforming streets into pedestrian and bicycle zones and allowing for outdoor dining, passive and active recreation, and other community activities.
