Coat Drive 2022 –  600 Coats needed

Drive until November 11th

“Last year we were able to collect over 500 coats for children living in the family shelters of Park Slope. People from all over the neighborhood came together to care for our brothers and sisters on the margins.

This year we are joining together again with people from all over the neighborhood to provide warm winter coats for the families at both the Shirley Chisholm Residence and the Rosa Parks Residence. For some of the people living in the family shelters, this will be their first winter. Their first time seeing snow, and feeling the frigid cold blowing through the streets. We have asylum seekers from Venezuela living in the family shelters in our neighborhood and we have the opportunity and privilege to care for them. Because of that, we are including men and women in our drive this year and our goal is to make sure that entire families have what they need to stay warm this winter. We are collecting gently used coats , as well as new hats, gloves, mittens, and warm socks.” email us at patricia@rootsBrooklyn to volunteer to help sort coats on Nov. 11
