Valerie Ferrier, a local Park Slope resident and supporter of small businesses will present some key topics and answer your questions.

Valerie K. Ferrier is counsel to Kane Kessler, P.C., and co-chairs the Labor and Employment Practice Group. Valerie is an accomplished employment attorney and litigator, offering advice and counsel to clients to mitigate and manage risk. She serves as “external HR,” prepares employee handbooks, and provides policy updates and management and employee training. She has significant experience defending claims in court and before the EEOC and State and City Human Rights agencies, including those brought under Title VII, the Americans with Disabilities Act, the New York State and City Human Rights Laws, the Fair Labor Standards Act and the New York Labor Law. Valerie has successfully tried cases before state and federal juries, and represents a range of clients from small family-owned businesses to national chains and international companies in a variety of industries.

She earned her J.D. from St. John’s University School of Law.
