They were told to suffer in silence and instead they stood up and fought for their liberation - and ours. On this 50th anniversary of Stonewall, it is important to honor and support the elders of our community, whose fight often tore them from their families and whose rights didn’t include creating legal families of their own. Let’s make our community an intergenerational family year round and support one another. - Griot Circle (@griotcircle) is a non-profit organization that supports LGBTQ+ elders of color through activities and advocacy. Let’s give what we can (and look good doing it!) if you’re not able to get a haircut tomorrow, please come by and donate anyway.
